Lincoln Park Veterinary Hospital is equipped with a state-of-the-art surgical suite and veterinarians with the expertise to perform a wide range of surgical procedures. We perform general surgical procedures such as: spay/neuter, growth removal, tumor biopsy, laceration repair, urinary bladder surgery and stone removal, abdominal exploratory surgery, oral surgery, Cesarean sections, and emergency surgery.
We are also proud to offer laser surgery as an option for our clients who want the safest and least painful treatment for their pets. Laser surgery is a progressive type of surgery that has many benefits compared to traditional surgery. With laser surgery, there is less pain and swelling, and reduces the risk of infection. It also results in a quicker recovery so your dog or cat can return to normal activity sooner. Common procedures that we perform with laser surgery include tumor removals and eyelid, nasal, and rectal surgeries.
Before your pet’s surgery, we will perform tests to confirm that his or her organs are functioning properly, and to ensure that they are a good candidate for anesthesia. During the surgery, our trained technicians will monitor your pet’s vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory functions, and oxygen levels. Your pet’s health and safety are our priority, and we will keep you informed about their progress every step of the way.
Post-surgical care will include an individualized pain management plan that may incorporate at-home pain medication to keep them as comfortable as possible during their recovery. We are more than happy to walk you through every step and explain everything you need to know for post-surgery care at home.
