Dr. Dizik
with Phoebe and Tigger
He became the owner of Lincoln Park Veterinary Hospital in 1984 after working with Dr. E.R. Zingeser for a few years. While working in Emergency Medicine, he had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Don Monyan. He did relief work for Dr. Monyan for a number of years and then purchased Downriver Animal Hospital in 1987. In 1986, a group of veterinarians in the Downriver community formed Affiliated Veterinary Emergency Service (AVES). After 10 years of being the AVES managing partner, he purchased Affiliated Veterinary Emergency Service upon the retirement of many of the group members.
In 1995, he joined the Board of the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA), became a member of the executive committee in 2000, and president of the MVMA in 2003. During his term as president, he created the Emergency Preparedness Taskforce. Dr. Dizik is currently a member of The Michigan Veterinary Corps and Treasurer of Michigan Animal Response Team. It is his goal to see that the State of Michigan is well prepared for any emergency that might affect the animal population.
Dr. Dizik currently resides with wife Lisa, daughter Lily, and two dogs in Bloomfield Hills. He has two sons, Bradley, who is a law student at Michigan State University, and Jordan, who is a student at Eastern Michigan University.
